Job description

Datawatch Systems, Inc., a leading national provider of managed access control and emergency management solutions for over 40 years, is seeking an experienced Tenant Sales Representative to join our team in Houston and surrounding metropolitan markets.

We offer a base salary, monthly commissions, car allowance, benefits and paid time off.  Excellent growth in income potential.  All applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screening and criminal background check. E/O/E/M/F/V/D

  • Location:  Houston, TX
  • Travel:  25%
  • Salary Range:  $50,000/year plus commission.

  • Identifying the access control systems in place, determining the ownership and decision-making structure and how they can be contacted.
  • Building and managing a sales pipeline and keeping a record of all prospecting and business development activities utilizing a Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) platform.
  • Keeping leadership informed on all relevant developments in the pursuit of new business.
  • Be the face of Datawatch in his or her respective market(s) and be responsible for building a credible business brand reflecting on he/she and the company. Activities related to building a brand would include but not be limited to active engagement with key industry organizations (BOMA, IREM, Chambers, etc.) as a member accepting leadership roles for maximum impact.
  • Generating new tenant sales in accordance with assigned quotas and meeting recurring monthly revenue and profitability requirements, growing existing accounts, providing direct oversight and customer service, and effectively communicating with peers and leadership on a regular basis.
  • Establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with building managers, tenants, and developers.
  • Explaining step by step process to install or convert a competitorโ€™s security system to Datawatch Systems.
  • Preparing proposals and participating in company presentations to show Datawatchโ€™s capabilities.
  • Interacting effectively with customers and co-workers to instill a strong sense of confidence through outstanding attention to detail, a high sense of urgency, and outstanding follow-up/availability.

  • Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of direct sales experience with a proven track record of success with selling products and services in the commercial office building and residential apartment building/property management environment.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and projects at once.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and clients..
  • Have a solid technical knowledge base with a strong desire to become familiar with and competent in dealing with new hardware/software applications unique to the Access Control and Monitoring industry.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or combination of education and experience.
