Overview

Operational Language Analysts (Cleared) (Multiple Openings for Chinese Mandarin, Farsi, Pashto, Somali OLAs) (Cleared) – Ft. Meade, MD.

ACTIVE TOP SECRET/SCI Clearance with Polygraph Required to Start

SCD Information Technology (SCDIT) is seeking mission-focused Operational Language Analysts (OLA) in multiple languages including Chinese Mandarin, Farsi, Pashto, and Somali to process voice and/or graphic language materials in support of SIGINT operations for a large Intelligence Community customer. Ideal candidates must have cryptologic experience.

Responsibilities
  • OLAs shall demonstrate cryptologic language processing skills to recover essential elements of information.
  • Render translations and/or transcripts for complex and sophisticated written and/or spoken material.
  • Gist straightforward, factual written and/or spoken material.
  • Translate and/or transcribe complex and sophisticated written and/or spoken material.
  • Type on an English-language keyboard.
Requirements

Requirements will vary depending on OLA level. Generally speaking, requirements include:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph to start; a CI poly may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Associate of Arts (AA)/Associate of Science (AS) degree, or equivalent from other countries. In lieu of the Associate’s Degree, an additional two years of directly related, applied, practical work experience may be substituted.
  • Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Skill Level 2 – 4 (depending on OLA level) in Audio Translation Performance and/or Translation Performance from the required language(s) into idiomatic, standard American English. NSA Language Test of Record scores may be used for validation. ILR validation must be documented within two years prior to resume submission.
  • Equivalent of two to 15 years of full-time cryptologic-related language experience in the required language, depending on OLA level.
  • For at least two of the six years’ experience, translating and/or transcribing, and gisting must be primary duties. For no more than one year of the required four years, reporting may be primary. Two of the four years’ experience shall be within four years of resume submission.

    • Salary Range: $99,000 - $105,600
  • Chinese Mandarin – Operational Language Analyst 2 (8 openings)
    • Requires TS/SCI with CI Poly to start (1 opening requires FSP)
    • Salary Range: $140,300 - $149,600
  • Chinese Mandarin – Operational Language Analyst 3 (1 opening)
    • Requires TS/SCI with CI Poly to start
    • Salary Range: $179,600 - $191,600
  • Farsi – Operational Language Analyst 2 (1 opening)
    • Requires TS/SCI with CI Poly to start
    • Salary Range: $140,300 - $149,600
  • Pashto – Operational Language Analyst 4 (1 opening)
    • Requires TS/SCI with CI Poly to start
    • Salary Range: $237,400 - $253,200
  • Somali – Operational Language Analyst 3 (1 opening)
    • Requires TS/SCI with CI Poly to start
    • Salary Range: $179,600 - $191,600
