We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and migration of Oracle database environments. This role is responsible for managing database operations across Linux servers, supporting replication through Oracle GoldenGate, and ensuring databases remain secure, available, and properly patched. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on Oracle administration experience, can work effectively in a secure government environment, and is comfortable supporting both ongoing operations and new database deployments.
Responsibilities

  • Create, clone, and migrate data and database environments using SQL commands and Oracle tools, including RMAN and SQL*Plus
  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle software and databases
  • Create, clone, and migrate Oracle databases across environments
  • Install and support Oracle databases on Linux servers using Linux command line tools and shell scripting
  • Administer database user roles, permissions, and access controls
  • Maintain database security and support compliance with applicable security requirements
  • Apply database patches, upgrades, and fixes to maintain system health and stability
  • Install, configure, and support Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), including creation of reports
  • Troubleshoot database performance, availability, and replication issues
  • Support operational maintenance and documentation for database environments
Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator with strong Oracle database administration skills
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle installation, database creation, cloning, and migration using RMAN
  • Experience installing and administering Oracle databases on Linux servers; proficiency with Linux command line
  • Proficiency with SQL*Plus for database administration and SQL command execution
  • Strong knowledge of database security, patching, user access management, and operational support
  • Experience installing, configuring, and generating reports in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
  • Must be able to work in the Washington, DC area and work in person at least once per week
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing and monitoring Oracle GoldenGate replication
  • Familiarity with Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ) in a production database environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple database administration tasks in parallel
  • Experience supporting secure or government environments
