Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite)
Experience Required: 10+ Years
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Exadata Architect to design, implement, and manage high-performance Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle Exadata architecture, database administration, and high availability solutions, along with experience integrating on-premises systems with AWS cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Oracle Exadata Architecture & Administration
  • Design, implement, and manage Oracle Exadata environments supporting enterprise workloads.
  • Optimize performance using Exadata features such as Smart Scan, Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC), and storage indexing.
  • Manage Exadata patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
Oracle Database Management
  • Administer Oracle databases with a focus on high availability, performance tuning, and reliability.
  • Manage and configure RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
  • Implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Cloud Integration & Hybrid Architecture
  • Architect and manage hybrid database environments across on-premises and AWS cloud.
  • Work with AWS services including:
    • RDS for Oracle
    • EC2-based Oracle deployments
    • AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
    • S3, IAM, KMS, and CloudWatch
  • Configure AWS networking components such as VPC, Direct Connect, and Transit Gateway.
Automation & Infrastructure Management
  • Develop automation scripts using Shell scripting or Ansible.
  • Manage Linux-based systems including Oracle Linux (OL) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
High Availability & Disaster Recovery
  • Design and implement HA/DR architectures across on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Ensure reliability and resilience for mission-critical enterprise applications.
Documentation & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to support enterprise database platforms.
Required Skills
  • 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
  • 5+ years of Oracle Exadata engineering or architecture experience.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Oracle RAC
    • ASM
    • RMAN
    • Data Guard
    • GoldenGate
  • Deep knowledge of Exadata storage internals and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Linux (Oracle Linux / RHEL) administration.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and networking.
  • Strong scripting experience using Shell or Ansible.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as:
    • Oracle Certified Master
    • OCI Architect
    • AWS Solutions Architect
  • Experience with Exadata Cloud@Customer or Exadata on OCI.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience in BFSI or regulated industries.
