Senior Oracle DBA with Exadata
We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle DBA to manage and optimize mission-critical Oracle Exadata environments. The role focuses on core database excellence, including performance tuning, high availability via RAC and Data Guard, and comprehensive backup and recovery strategies. While you will provide secondary operational support for Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) platforms, your primary responsibility is ensuring the stability and scalability of the underlying database infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Exadata-specific features to drive enterprise-level database performance.
Responsibilities
Oracle DBA & Exadata Support
โ€ข Administer, maintain, and support Oracle 19c/26ai databases across production, QA, and development environments.
โ€ข Install, Upgrade, migrate, and maintain ODI 14c infrastructure independently
โ€ข Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN backup/recovery, and high-availability solutions.
โ€ข Support Oracle Exadata environments including database performance tuning, storage optimization, and patching activities.
โ€ข Perform database upgrades, migrations, cloning, refreshes, and lifecycle management.
โ€ข Monitor and optimize database performance using AWR, ASH, ADDM, OEM, and SQL tuning techniques.
โ€ข Support Exadata database workloads leveraging Smart Scan, Flash Cache, ASM, and RAC performance optimization.
โ€ข Execute quarterly patching, PSU/RU upgrades, and database maintenance activities.
โ€ข Troubleshoot database, RAC, ASM, connectivity, and performance-related production issues.
โ€ข Participate in on-call support, production deployments, and root-cause analysis activities.
Automation & Operational Support
โ€ข Develop automation scripts using Shell scripting, Python, or Ansible to streamline DBA operational tasks.
โ€ข Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and health checks for Oracle database environments.
โ€ข Maintain operational procedures and technical documentation.
Security & Compliance
โ€ข Implement database security standards including auditing, encryption, patch compliance, and access controls.
โ€ข Support backup/recovery testing and disaster recovery readiness.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with enterprise security and operational standards.
ODI Administration & Support
โ€ข Support Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) platform administration and maintenance activities.
โ€ข Perform ODI upgrades, patching, migrations, and environment configuration.
โ€ข Maintain ODI repositories, agents, and operational configurations.
โ€ข Work with ETL and application teams during ODI maintenance and upgrade initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
โ€ข 5+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in enterprise production environments.
โ€ข Strong experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and database performance tuning.
โ€ข Hands-on experience supporting Oracle Exadata database environments.
โ€ข Strong understanding of Exadata features including Smart Scan, Flash Cache, ASM, and RAC optimization.
โ€ข Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) administration and monitoring.
โ€ข Experience with Oracle ODI 14c Administration, Upgrades, and troubleshooting is plus
โ€ข Experience with Oracle database patching, upgrades, cloning, and migrations.
โ€ข Strong scripting and automation skills using Shell scripting, Python, or Ansible.
โ€ข Good understanding of Red Hat Linux/Unix administration.
โ€ข Experience supporting mission-critical 24x7 production environments.
โ€ข Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
โ€ข Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Salary Range
Jersey City: $130,000 - $175,000 salary + annual performance bonus
