Job Title

Enterprise Analytics Intern

Job Purpose

The Enterprise Analytics Intern will support business teams by transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across Hormel Foods. This role provides hands-on experience in analytics, category management, revenue growth management, and sales performance reporting while partnering with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and trends. The intern will develop analytical, storytelling, and problem-solving skills through meaningful projects that support enterprise growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze category, consumer, customer, and sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and business risks
  • Create and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports using enterprise analytics tools
  • Support enterprise analytical initiatives through market, consumer, and competitive analysis
  • Assist in developing recommendations that improve business performance, market share, and customer outcomes
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer key business questions from stakeholders
  • Translate complex data findings into clear and compelling presentations for business partners
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Revenue Growth Management, and Insights
  • Monitor category and industry trends to provide actionable business recommendations
  • Present project findings and recommendations to department leadership at the conclusion of the internship

Required Qualifications

  • Must graduate between August 2027, December 2027, May 2028ย  with a Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Professional Selling, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools
  • Possess knowledge of syndicated data, spreadsheets, databases, and category management tools.ย  Experience with PowerBI and Tableau or similar analytical tools would be beneficial.ย 
  • Experience working with large datasets and presenting findings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in consumer-packaged goods, retail analytics, category management, or business intelligence preferred

Duration

Our summer internship program runs 10-12 weeks and starts in late May and ends in early August.

Hours

This is a temporary, full-time, hourly position. Interns can expect to work approximately 40 hours per week and may be eligible for overtime based on business needs.ย

  • This is an on-site position based out of our office in Eden Prairie, MN.
