About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Database Engineer to support critical enterprise database platforms and data integration services within a large-scale banking environment. This role focuses on the administration, support, maintenance, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server platforms, with a strong emphasis on Always On Availability Groups, SSIS administration, and operational database support.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise managing highly available SQL Server environments, supporting enterprise reporting and analytics platforms, and delivering database solutions that meet performance, security, scalability, and reliability requirements.
This is not a database development role. Candidates should have strong experience in database administration (DBA) and SSIS platform support, rather than application or ETL development.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server environments across development, testing, and production platforms.
  • Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot Always On Availability Groups in SQL Server 2019 and 2022 environments.
  • Provide operational support for SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SSISDB administration.
  • Analyze and resolve database-related incidents, service requests, problem tickets, and root cause investigations.
  • Support database infrastructure initiatives that improve system reliability, scalability, performance, and security.
  • Partner with technology teams and business stakeholders to deliver database solutions aligned with documented business and technical requirements.
  • Assist with database deployments, upgrades, configuration changes, and environment maintenance activities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in production support activities, including scheduled on-call rotations.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise data management standards, governance policies, and operational best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and support teams to enhance the strategic use of enterprise data services.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in Database Engineering, Database Administration, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with:
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • SQL Server Always On Availability Groups
    • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
    • SSISDB administration and support
  • Strong experience administering enterprise SQL Server environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting performance, availability, and operational issues in production systems.
  • Ability to support database platforms across multiple SDLC environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with AutoSys job scheduling and automation.
  • Familiarity with enterprise change management and production support processes.
  • Experience supporting analytics and operational reporting platforms within regulated environments.
