Job Summary:
Visionist, Inc. is seeking Junior Database Engineers to join their team at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex software systems to enhance maritime domain awareness and support global ship tracking systems.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design, develop, test, install, and maintain complex software systems, primarily for Multi-INT processing
โ€ข Develop and maintain technical/user documentation and provide system training and orientation
โ€ข Apply structured and object-oriented programming using modern software development tools
โ€ข Collaborate with development teams across the software development lifecycle
โ€ข Design enterprise architectures and database systems for ground-based analysis platforms
โ€ข Implement system information modeling, BPM, workflow processes, and web-based solutions
โ€ข Build and manage databases for storing raw data and Multi-INT fusion products for warfighter dissemination
โ€ข Monitor and manage project budgets, schedules, and financial data to ensure compliance with government requirements
โ€ข Maintain MS Access databases to support financial tracking and reporting
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) Clearance Is Required.
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
โ€ข 2 years of experience in database engineering
โ€ข Strong experience in both structured and object-oriented software development
โ€ข Proficiency with enterprise architecture and database design for complex systems
โ€ข Experience with business process modeling and web-based development techniques
โ€ข Ability to manage budgets, financial tracking, and project scheduling tools
โ€ข Knowledge of Multi-INT data processing, sensor technologies, and surveillance methodologies
โ€ข Familiarity with MS Access and government fiscal compliance requirements
โ€ข U.S citizenship required (green card holders and permanent residents are not eligible).
