Job description

Quality Specialist
Job Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Quality Specialist to join our Quality team. In this role, you will partner with cross functional teams to monitor manufacturing processes, diagnose/ troubleshoot and support resolution of non-conforming products including the facilitating of containment, root cause and preventative action plans. You will identify defects, maintain accurate quality records, and collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain and Production teams to assure compliance and drive improvement. Participate with APQP activities, supplier quality activities, maintain reporting, and perform Internal Audits.
Key Responsibilities
  • Document non-conformances, issue quality holds / quality alerts, and participate/facilitate in formal defect resolution processes (like 8D, 5-Why, or Cause & Effect).
  • Facilitate and oversee containment of suspect and nonconforming materials.
  • Coordinate a Material Review Board for timely containment disposition on non-conforming materials.
  • Support and communicate with key stakeholders on natures of quality issues.
  • Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and manufacturing equipment to perform product testing.
  • Record, log, and analyze testing data in digital tracking systems and software.
  • Quarantine and disposition suspect/nonconforming materials in department 459.
  • Escalate quality trends or recurring process defects to manufacturing line leadership and quality engineering.
  • Issue Corrective Action Requests and facilitate the completion of corrective / preventative action plans.
  • Assist the Quality Team with activities such as; PPAP generation, Control Plans, FMEA, and MSAs as needed.
  • Assist Supplier Quality in various activities to investigate and improve supplier performance.
  • Generate various Quality Reports.
  • Perform Line and QMS Internal Audits.
  • Participating in Improvement Projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in quality control, inspection, or technician roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and process specifications.
  • Proficiency with computer databases, data entry, and spreadsheet software (such as: Excel and SharePoint).
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow effective communication with others, relationship building, and the ability to navigate situations successfully as a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy when dealing with unfavorable process events.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50 pounds.
