Business Development Manager / Executive – MDM Consulting

Location: Remote, U.S.
Role Type: Full-Time
Focus Area: Data Management, Master Data Management, Technology Consulting, Professional Services, Reltio Implementation, Reltio Integration

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager / Business Development Executive to drive new client acquisition and revenue growth for a growing Master Data Management consulting practice.

This is a high-impact commercial role for someone who understands the data management and MDM ecosystem, has experience selling complex consulting engagements, and can build trusted relationships with enterprise data, technology, and business leaders.

The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of the MDM vendor landscape, especially Reltio, along with the ability to sell professional services and consulting solutions to enterprise clients. Experience with the SAP ecosystem and other MDM platforms such as Informatica, Profisee, or SAP data solutions is a strong plus.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales
  • Own and drive the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract close for new MDM consulting engagements.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities across target accounts and industries.
  • Develop and execute account and territory plans to generate new business.
  • Meet or exceed annual quota targets through consistent pipeline development and deal execution.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and partner forums to build market presence and generate leads.
  • Develop proposals, presentations, and sales materials in collaboration with internal teams.
Client & Partner Relationships
  • Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers, including CDOs, CIOs, VP of Data, IT leaders, and business stakeholders.
  • Work closely with MDM platform vendors and ecosystem partners to identify co-selling and joint go-to-market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal delivery teams to ensure smooth handoffs from sales to implementation.
  • Maintain long-term client relationships to identify expansion opportunities.
Market Strategy & Intelligence
  • Stay current on trends in Master Data Management, data governance, data quality, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Understand the evolving MDM vendor landscape, including Reltio, SAP, Informatica, Profisee, and related technologies.
  • Provide market feedback and competitive insights to help refine go-to-market strategy and service positioning.
  • Identify new verticals, partner channels, and service areas for growth.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or another client-facing commercial role within technology consulting or professional services.
  • Proven track record selling complex, multi-month consulting or professional services engagements to enterprise clients.
  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management concepts, use cases, and business value across customer, product, supplier, or reference data domains.
  • Experience selling or working closely with MDM platforms, preferably Reltio.
  • Familiarity with the SAP ecosystem and the ability to position MDM solutions to SAP-aligned buyers.
  • Experience engaging senior executives and enterprise technology leaders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in a full-cycle sales role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience selling services around Reltio, Informatica, Profisee, SAP data solutions, or other enterprise MDM platforms.
  • Existing relationships within the MDM vendor, partner, or data consulting ecosystem.
  • Experience working in or selling for a boutique, specialist, or high-growth consulting firm.
  • Exposure to data governance, data quality, data integration, cloud migration, AI, or data privacy services.
  • Ability to work closely with delivery, marketing, and partner teams to support revenue growth.
