The Position

The Data Analytics Supervisor position at VINCI Construction is a pivotal role that involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support the company's construction projects. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various departments, including project management, finance, and operation. Understanding business needs, gathering requirements, and creating data models and dashboards in Power BI. This role requires the ability to gather data from multiple sources, including SAP ECC, SQL Server databases, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Fabric pipelines, Azure databases, and third-party applications databases. Additionally, the Data Analytics Supervisor will support company users through a ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution of data-related issues and requests.

A strong knowledge of creating data models and applying business rules to these models is essential. The role also requires an advanced level of proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create complex calculations and custom measures within Power BI. The Data Analytics Supervisor will be responsible for developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, ensuring that data insights are effectively communicated to stakeholders. The Data Analytics Supervisor must also be proficient in working on Power BI Service, providing access to reports, mapping gateways, managing data sources, creating connections to databases, and scheduling refreshes.

Finally, the Data Analytics Supervisor must be capable of creating detailed documentation to support data models, reports, and processes, ensuring that business rules and methodologies are clearly communicated and accessible. This position demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to present complex data in a clear and actionable manner, making it essential for enhancing project efficiency and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the company.


Key Duties

  • Leadership:Supervise and lead a team of Data Analysts conducting team meetings, mentoring and 1x1s.ย  Managing the team's work and ensuring your team is completing the work they are assigned.ย  Along with coaching and developing the team members.
  • Collect and Analyze Data:ย Gather data from various sources, including SAP ECC, SQL Server databases, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Fabric pipelines, Azure databases, and third-party applications databases, to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Develop Dashboards and Reports: Create and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Support Users: Assist company users through a ticketing system, addressing data-related issues, requests, and ensuring effective use of data tools and resources.
  • Power BI Service Management: Manage Power BI Service by providing access to reports, mapping gateways, managing data sources, creating database connections, and scheduling refreshes.
  • Data Modeling: Develop and refine data models, applying business rules to ensure accurate representation of business processes within the models.
  • DAX Calculations: Utilize intermediate-level DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create complex calculations, measures, and custom queries within Power BI.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for data models, reports, dashboards, and processes to ensure clarity and accessibility for stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project management, finance, human resources, accounting, and operations teams to understand business needs, gather requirements, and deliver data-driven solutions that support project goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing process improvements by analyzing current workflows and recommending data-driven enhancements to optimize project outcomes.

Education, Experience and Skills.

  • 3+ Years of leadership experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience as a Data Analyst
  • 5+ Years of PowerBI and PowerQuery experience
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience
  • Solid experience working with vendors and acting as part of a project team
  • Progressive, relevant responsibility throughout your career
  • Excellent planning and self-directed time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service focus
