Job description

A well-established international logistics and supply chain organization in East El Paso is seeking an experienced Customs Compliance & Warehouse Manager to oversee customs compliance operations, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) activities, and warehouse-related customs processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Lead and manage the Customs Compliance Department, providing guidance, training, and oversight to ensure departmental goals and compliance requirements are achieved.
  • Customs Compliance Warehouse Manager will Oversee daily Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and procedures.
  • Manage customs compliance activities related to imports, exports, in-bond shipments, and other customs programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with CBP officers, supervisory inspectors, Port Directors, and other government officials.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, transportation providers, and customers to ensure efficient movement and clearance of freight.
  • Monitor customs processes to ensure timely clearance of shipments and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Identify compliance risks and implement corrective actions to minimize penalties, delays, and operational disruptions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and recordkeeping within company operating systems.
  • Develop, train, and mentor customs compliance personnel to promote operational excellence and professional growth.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and government regulations.
  • Analyze operational performance and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by proactively addressing client concerns and resolving operational issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and strategic growth objectives.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have Minimum of five (5) years of experience in supply chain management, international trade, logistics, customs compliance, or Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience with excellent leadership, coaching and employee development skills.
  • Must have Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, customs clearance procedures, and international trade compliance.
  • Experience managing customs operations, in-bond shipments, and FTZ compliance activities.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with customers, government agencies, brokers, carriers, and other stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working within a high-volume international logistics, warehousing, distribution, or cross-border transportation environment.
  • Familiarity with Foreign Trade Zone administration and customs automation systems.
  • Experience working with regulatory audits and compliance reviews.
