Job description

SPATCO is looking for an energetic service dispatcher to join our team. This person will be responsible for dispatching calls for service technicians in an assigned branch. In this position you will work with internal employees and in some cases customers.  You will work very closely with the service manager to ensure calls are scheduled, dispatched and closed in a timely manner.  This will require clear and concise writing/verbal communication with department managers, employees, and customers.


Essential Functions:

  • Dispatch service technicians to appropriate locations according to customer requests and local branch standards
  • Enter service call information into computer systems
  • Confer with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and requests for service
  • Relay work orders, messages, and information in writing and/or verbally
  • Use GPS programs to monitor locations of service technicians to assist in dispatching calls
  • Assist in processing and billing of service invoices

Experience, Competencies and Education

  • Previous dispatch experience preferred
  • Experience dealing with customers
  • Prior use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Office)
  • Must be dependable and detailed oriented
  • Strong communication: Must have the ability to listen and communicate effectively
  • Able to multitask and perform a variety of tasks effectively
  • Problem solving skills – must be able to prioritize the most important situations, evaluate and resolve issues in an efficient matter
  • Work under time constraints efficiently and have the ability to work well with others
