Job description

Customer Service / Order Processing Representative

Overview

This client is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join its Customer Service team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in customer support within a technical manufacturing environment.

This is not a high-volume call center role. Instead, you will work closely with customers and sales representatives to process orders, answer product-related questions, provide quotes, and coordinate solutions across multiple departments. Many inquiries involve customized products and require collaboration with engineering, production, and warehouse teams.

New hires will begin as Order Processing Representatives, gaining product knowledge and learning company systems before taking on additional customer-facing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide sales support to customers and sales representatives.
  • Prepare quotes and assist with order entry and order tracking.
  • Coordinate with engineering, warehouse, and other internal teams to resolve customer inquiries.
  • Expedite orders and provide status updates to customers.
  • Assist with restocking requests and product troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate customer and order information within company systems.
  • Utilize Outlook, Excel, SAP, and CRM tools to manage daily responsibilities.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service, order entry, or customer support experience.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to think analytically and learn technical product information.
  • Ability to type at least 45 WPM.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and/or knowledge with SAP
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • 2-4 years of experience in technical customer service.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or technical products.
  • Familiarity with the power transmission industry.
  • Hands-on technical interests or hobbies (automotive, farming, mechanical repair, etc.).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish. This is a great perk but not required.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, learning technical products, and working collaboratively with customers and internal teams. They are highly organized, customer-focused, and comfortable balancing administrative work, data entry, and customer communication in a fast-paced environment.
