Position Summary

The CPS Energy Internship Program is designed to meet the industry’s rapidly changing workforce needs by providing San Antonio college students an opportunity to be paired with a mentor to acquire meaningful hands-on experiences that expands their understanding of the industry and exposes them to essential skills they must acquire or develop to succeed. The internship is designed for the intern to learn to perform in a work environment and understand the rationale behind the strategies used. Applicants must reside in the San Antonio Metropolitan area and are currently enrolled in school or recently graduated to qualify.

This Customer Experience intern is responsible for developing processes for consistent and effective data analysis and reporting, both for immediate and long-term needs of the department.

Tasks and Responsibilities

·Researches, analyzes, and creates current and future business process designs, capability maps, workflows, and data flows to identify areas for improvement.

·Applies techniques to value or quantify the business process improvement opportunities and related risks for prioritization and post-change return on investment analysis.

·Participates in the roll out of new processes or process improvements providing presentations, training, workshop coordination or other such efforts.

·Maintains process documentation and inventory. 

·Incorporates industry standards and best practices into processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. 

Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must be currently enrolled in a related discipline.
A minimum GPA of 2.5.
Must currently reside within 120 miles of CPS Energy Headquarters.
Demonstrated leadership potential.
Self-motivated and results oriented.
Exceptional communication skills.
Effective networking skills.
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate an interest in a career applicable to the utility industry.
Participate in full-time employment with CPS Energy.
