Business Development Manager
Janel Group is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business growth throughout the Southeast region. This is a true hunter role focused on identifying, pursuing, and securing new customers within the logistics and freight forwarding industry. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives on building relationships, generating new revenue, and achieving sales goals.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue within assigned territories and service offerings.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial outreach through closing and onboarding.
  • Build strong client relationships and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Collaborate with operations and internal teams to support customer needs and business growth.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends and competitive activity.
  • Track sales activities, pipeline progress, and revenue forecasts through CRM tools.
  • Travel within the assigned territory as needed to meet with prospective and existing customers.
Qualifications
  • Proven success in business development, sales, or account acquisition.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet sales goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

  • Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, NVOCC, customs brokerage, or related transportation services strongly preferred.
