FXD Construction is a premier luxury custom home builder specializing in architecturally significant residences throughout South Florida. We are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead the field operations of high-end custom home projects from groundbreaking through final delivery.


This is a hands-on leadership role for a construction professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, accountability, and delivering an exceptional client experience. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing luxury residential projects, coordinating multiple trades, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and schedule performance.


Key Responsibilities


Project Leadership

  • Manage all on-site construction activities for luxury custom home projects from site development through certificate of occupancy.
  • Lead daily field operations while ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with company quality standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and trade partners.
  • Conduct regular site walks to monitor progress, identify issues, and proactively implement solutions.


Schedule & Quality Management

  • Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with project management teams.
  • Ensure proper sequencing of work and protection of high-end finishes, millwork, stone, specialty materials, and custom architectural features.
  • Monitor workmanship and enforce quality standards throughout all phases of construction.
  • Manage punch lists, inspections, and final closeout activities to ensure flawless project delivery.


Client & Team Communication

  • Serve as the primary field representative and maintain professional communication with homeowners, architects, designers, and consultants.
  • Provide consistent project updates and ensure stakeholder expectations are exceeded.
  • Foster a collaborative jobsite culture focused on accountability, safety, and excellence.


Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and professional job sites.
  • Ensure compliance with all local building codes, inspections, and permitting requirements.


Problem Solving & Field Coordination

  • Anticipate project challenges and resolve issues before they impact schedules or budgets.
  • Coordinate RFIs, change orders, submittals, and scope adjustments with project managers and design teams.
  • Maintain detailed daily logs, progress reports, and construction documentation.


Qualifications


Experience

  • 10+ years of construction experience with at least 5 years serving as a Superintendent on luxury residential projects.
  • Proven success managing custom home projects valued at $3M+ from start to finish.
  • Strong understanding of South Florida residential construction practices and permitting processes.
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and maintaining project schedules in fast-paced environments.


Skills & Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge of all construction trades, building systems, and luxury residential finishes.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Experience with Procore, Buildertrend, or similar construction management software.
  • Results-driven mindset with exceptional attention to detail and quality.


Certifications & Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to be on-site daily and travel between projects as needed.
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
