Position: Academic Hospitalist - Internal Medicine Residency Program
Location: Dothan, Alabama
Schedule: Full-Time

Position Summary
The facility is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine Physician to join its dynamic Academic Hospitalist Team supporting the Internal Medicine Residency Program in Dothan, AL.
This is a full-time, hospital-employed position offering a rewarding blend of clinical care, resident teaching, and academic leadership within a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to medical education, evidence-based practice, and continuous quality improvement.

Essential Position Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality inpatient care to hospitalized patients within a teaching service.
  • Supervise, mentor, and educate internal medicine residents and medical students in both clinical and didactic settings.
  • Participate in curriculum development, scholarly activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, evidence-based care.
  • Engage in clinical documentation and performance improvement to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to academic conferences, grand rounds, and faculty development activities.
Qualifications
  • Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Licensure & Certification: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine; eligible for Alabama medical licensure.
  • Experience: Previous academic or teaching experience preferred; strong interest in medical education required.
  • Skills: Excellent clinical, communication, and leadership abilities with a passion for mentorship and lifelong learning.
