This position is ideal for a motivated, proactive leader who enjoys working alongside their team while also taking on the operational, administrative, and creative responsibilities that come with management.

The Assistant Manager plays an important role in creating a positive team culture, maintaining strong day-to-day operations, and identifying and addressing potential challenges before they become larger issues. This position requires excellent people skills, initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to balance guest service, team leadership, business needs, and community engagement.

Individuals who love coffee, enjoy working with people, and are interested in growing their leadership and management skills are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Assistant Managers are expected to meet all requirements and perform the duties of a Beans & Brews Barista and Shift Lead, in addition to the following:

  • Manage cash handling, daily deposits, and the prioritization of daily tasks.

  • Serve as a professional, positive, and enthusiastic representative of Beans & Brews Coffee House at all times.

  • Support upper management with employee training, implementation of company policies, and reinforcement of established procedures.

  • Proactively identify and address operational, staffing, and guest-service challenges.

  • Help maintain strong team morale by encouraging, supporting, coaching, and positively engaging with employees.

  • Effectively lead and manage employees while providing direction and support when needed.

  • Respond professionally to guest and employee questions, concerns, and disagreements, working to resolve issues appropriately.

  • Assist upper management with operational, administrative, and special projects.

  • Contribute ideas and assist with planning and executing community events, in-store promotions, and other business initiatives.

  • Help ensure the store consistently maintains Beans & Brews standards for cleanliness, service, quality, and overall presentation.

  • Step in wherever needed to support the team and the overall success of the business.

Qualifications
  • Prior retail, restaurant, or customer-service experience required; previous leadership experience strongly preferred.

  • Friendly, confident, outgoing, and approachable personality.

  • Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to take initiative, make sound decisions, and manage multiple responsibilities.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, people-centered environment.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with and lead a diverse team.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Fluent English skills required due to the guest-facing and leadership responsibilities of the position.

This Role Is Best Suited for Someone Who
  • Enjoys wearing many hats and understands that no two days will look exactly the same.

  • Is proactive and observant, noticing small issues and addressing them before they become larger problems.

  • Takes pride in supporting team morale and helping create a positive, encouraging work environment.

  • Is comfortable stepping in wherever help is needed-whether on the floor, behind the scenes, or on a special project.

  • Enjoys balancing hands-on work with creative, administrative, and operational responsibilities.

  • Is confident representing the business in the community and building genuine relationships with local partners.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

  • Is dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Enjoys developing others and is eager to grow their own leadership and management skills.

  • Has a genuine interest in coffee and wants the opportunity to build a career with Beans & Brews Coffee House.
