Position Summary
The Craft Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, recruiting, screening, and hiring skilled craft professionals supporting scaffolding, insulation, and coatings operations throughout the Houston area. This position plays a critical role in maintaining workforce levels by leveraging industry relationships, field experience, referrals, networking, and local recruiting efforts.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within industrial construction, scaffolding, insulation, coatings, maintenance, turnarounds, or related soft craft environments and understand how to identify and assess qualified craft personnel.
Key Responsibilities
• Recruit craft personnel for scaffolding, insulation, and coatings operations throughout the Louisiana region.
• Develop and maintain relationships with field personnel, supervisors, foremen, and industry contacts to generate candidate referrals.
• Source candidates through networking, referrals, industry relationships, job boards, community outreach, and local recruiting efforts.
• Screen and interview candidates to assess qualifications, work history, certifications, and craft experience.
• Verify employment history and evaluate candidate suitability for specific project and workforce needs.
• Partner closely with operations leaders to understand manpower requirements and workforce planning needs.
• Maintain candidate pipelines for ongoing and future workforce demands.
• Manage candidate communications throughout the recruiting process.
• Utilize recruiting systems, databases, and reporting tools to track recruiting activity and hiring progress.
• Attend hiring events, workforce development programs, and industry networking opportunities as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company hiring policies and procedures.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of recruiting, workforce development, manpower coordination, craft supervision, or related experience.
• Experience within scaffolding, insulation, coatings, industrial construction, maintenance, turnaround, refinery, petrochemical, or related industries strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of craft labor recruiting and workforce planning.
• Ability to assess candidate qualifications and verify applicable trade experience.
• Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and recruiting systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while partnering closely with operations leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience recruiting craft labor in industrial or construction environments.
• Experience supporting refinery, petrochemical, power generation, maintenance, or turnaround projects.
