Floral Services is hiring a Product Development Costing Analyst to join our team in Portland, OR to ensure accurate product quoting and seamless data management across our development process.

Key Details:

  • Pay: $68,000 - $75,000 annually (depending on experience)

About the Role:

The Costing Analyst is responsible for product costing, factory quote management, pricing accuracy, item setup, and margin management support across Candles, Plush, Floral, and Seasonal categories. This role serves as a key link between factories, sourcing, sales, product development, and operations to ensure quotes are accurate, data is complete, deadlines are met, and programs launch profitably. Responsibilities Include:

Product Costing & Quote Management:

  • Request factory quotes and review for accuracy based on product specifications and company quoting policies.
  • Challenge factories when incorrect information is quoted or unsupported price increases are submitted.
  • Build and maintain accurate cost sheets, line sheets, freight models, and landed cost formulas.
  • Maintain quote history by customer, season, category, and supplier.
  • Support margin analysis and pricing recommendations.

Product Data & Customer Systems

  • Upload item setup data into customer Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Maintain SKU attributes, dimensions, packaging, HTS codes, freight data, and costing fields.
  • Review and confirm final product data before orders are placed.
  • Identify and communicate changes impacting pricing, specifications, or margins.

Operational Support

  • Save, organize, and maintain supplier quotes, catalogs, specifications, and costing files.
  • Support sourcing and sales teams with quote turnarounds and customer deadlines.
  • Coordinate with overseas factories regarding costing, specs, timelines, and revisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Work effectively under time constraints to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Maintain strong accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively in written, verbal, and electronic formats, including with overseas suppliers and international teams.
  • Exercise independent judgment and perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Operate as a strong collaborator and foster collaboration across departments.
  • Take direction well while remaining proactive and solution oriented.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Qualifications for the Role Include:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ yearsโ€™ experience in costing, sourcing, pricing, product data, or consumer products operations.
  • Advanced Excel skills including formulas, lookups, pivots, and cost models.
  • Experience working with overseas factories, especially Asia based suppliers.
  • Experience with retailer systems such as Grocery Channel, Walmart, Costco, Amazon, or similar preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage high volumes of SKUs and deadlines
  • Experience as a Cost Analyst, Costing Analyst, Product Cost Analyst, Pricing Analyst, Supply Chain Analyst, Cost Accountant, Cost Specialist, Cost Controller, Cost Engineer, Product Development Analyst, Sourcing Analyst, Merchandising Analyst, Product Data Analyst, PLM Analyst, Vendor Operations Analyst, Retail Operations Analyst, Category Operations Analyst or similar role is highly applicable and valued for this role.
