Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Should Costing Engineer with strong expertise in automotive or manufacturing industries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing component-level cost analysis, manufacturing cost breakdowns, and supplier negotiation support for engineering parts and assemblies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop should cost models for automotive and manufacturing components
  • Perform target costing and cost benchmarking for new parts
  • Analyze supplier quotations and prepare detailed negotiation reports for commodity teams
  • Identify key cost drivers, savings opportunities, and optimization strategies
  • Perform manufacturing process selection, machine planning, and cycle time calculations
  • Evaluate machine hourly rates (MHR), overheads, and profit margins
  • Conduct cost mapping for engineering parts and assemblies
  • Support supplier negotiations with data-driven cost breakdowns
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Work with cross-functional teams including engineering, sourcing, and supply chain
