Job description

About the Role
A fast-growing, Series A/B AI-powered procurement intelligence platform for the industrial and manufacturing sector is looking for a Head of Product Design to define how humans and AI agents collaborate across their product. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will shape interaction paradigms, build a design team, and make complex procurement decisions legible and trustworthy for non-analyst users. Your work will directly influence profitability for large industrial customers and set the standard for agent-native product experiences.
What You'll Do
  • Define and evolve the interaction paradigm for agent-driven procurement workflows - where AI agents execute and humans supervise, steer, and handle exceptions.
  • Develop mental models, UI patterns, and frameworks that make dense procurement concepts (e.g. should-costing, raw material indices, contract leakage) accessible and actionable.
  • Own and evolve the design system and component architecture to support agent-driven development and rapid product iteration.
  • Build, hire, and lead a team of approximately four product designers, setting the bar for craft, speed, and strategic impact.
  • Establish design as a strategic partner in the product trio alongside product management and engineering.
  • Champion UX research best practices and drive company-wide understanding of real user problems.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align design strategy with business goals.
What We're Looking For
  • 6+ years of product design experience, with at least 2+ years leading design teams at high-growth technology companies known for design excellence.
  • Deep experience designing data-heavy, workflow-driven products where information density is an asset, not a liability.
  • Proven track record building and maintaining design systems and component architectures for complex software products.
  • Genuine fluency with AI as a design material - a clear point of view on LLMs, agents, and automation, with hands-on experience designing UX for AI/LLM-driven products.
  • Strong systems thinking: you design in frameworks and patterns, not just screens.
  • Demonstrated ability to move fluidly between strategic leadership and hands-on craft.
  • Strong collaborator with product and engineering, with proven stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus but not required.
Location & Work Arrangement
This role is based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany and follows a hybrid on-site setup. Candidates must have the right to work in Germany. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation details are available upon application and will be discussed during the recruitment process.
