Job description

Position Purpose:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the shipping and Recieving though supervision, development and training of the warehouse team. Responsible for directing activities of the shipping department. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below:
         Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times
         Correspond with customers and sales using tools provided
         Monitor shipping schedule and correspond with Scheduler
         Maintain filing system
         Process customer pickups as required
         Collaborate, consult and communicate with other supervisors on all shifts
         Administer the truck scheduling system 
         Develop delivery schedules for all orders
         Recommend changes for improvements in efficiencies and performance
         Schedule dock appointments with customers as needed
         Compile a daily performance report and distribute
         Contact and schedule outside carriers as required
         Assist in warehouse as needed
         Respot trailers as needed
         Reconcile daily shipping log
         Ensure prompt, accurate loading and shipping of finished product for customers
         Monitor all job functions to match quality and safety policies
         Ensure prompt and accurate execution of all job functions
         Ensure all projects completed timely and accurately
         Work from written and verbal directions
         Maintain neat and orderly work area
         Organize and maintain plant fun schedule "Smartplan"
         Order sheets daily
         Order Production supplies and maintain an accurate inventory
Full-time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting 
Skill Set:
         Basic math and computer skills
         Excellent verbal and written communication skills
         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
         Organizational skills
Qualifications Desired:
         5 years of experience as a shipping supervisor or manager
         Experience in the corrugated packaging industry highly preferred
         High school diploma / GED
$65,000 - $70,000 biweekly
