Job description

SEI is seeking a Corporate Insurance Manager to join the Legal Risk Management (LRM) team within the Legal, Compliance and Risk (LCR) department. This individual contributor role will oversee SEI's global corporate insurance programs and ensure that policies and coverage align with our risk profile. The Corporate Insurance Manager will report to the lead attorney of the LRM team. The function serves as the key point person for insurance matters, responsible for managing internal and external relationships and inquiries. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to apply and hone their skills in an innovative, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills as well as a background in commercial insurance coverage, handling policy renewals and/or claims. The role will focus on identifying and implementing efficient procedures and workflows and partnering collaboratively with LCR colleagues and business stakeholders. The position requires both strategic acumen as well as effective execution of day-to-day responsibilities.

What you will do:

  • Track and oversee annual insurance renewal processes throughout the year for SEI's suite of corporate insurance policies, including policies for SEI's subsidiaries, affiliates and fund clients
  • Gather and analyze relevant data to complete applications for underwriting
  • Serve as liaison with corporate insurance brokers and insurers
  • Monitor insurance market trends, shifts and emerging risks
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting insurance costs
  • Maintain and organize insurance policies and related documentation
  • Streamline internal quick reference tools summarizing insurance policies and programs, key terms, costs, and other relevant items
  • Serve as primary internal contact for insurance-related inquiries and needs, including:
    • requests for proposals, due diligence questionnaires, Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and other coverage questions
    • regulatory exams and filings and internal governance matters
    • questions from LCR and business unit stakeholders regarding coverage in client and vendor contracts
    • inquiries relating to M&A transactions and expansions into new jurisdictions
    • facilitating presentations to executives and Boards of Directors
  • Manage and simplify COI request process and procedures
  • Develop guidelines for reporting claims or potential claims
  • Track, monitor, analyze and support claims activity and litigation, including document management and production
  • Suggest and implement process improvements for function administration
  • Develop policies, procedures and best practices, and conduct research as appropriate
  • Participate in ad hoc project work in support of LCR, LRM or broader SEI initiatives

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with at least 10 years of experience in an insurance-related role (Insurance Analyst, Risk Manager or similar role), preferably in the financial services industry
  • Working knowledge of global corporate insurance market and experience with claims
  • Experience reviewing insurance policies, contract language and coverage terms
  • Strong communication, relationship and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including the use of AI tools
  • Detail oriented, adaptive and a collaborative team player
  • Adept at process improvement and streamlining
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently and with a sense of urgency
