Manager - Corporate Development
The Opportunity
As a Corporate Development Manager, you will support strategic decision making and growth initiatives across the organization by delivering insights on markets, customers, competitors, financial topics, investments, technologies, and industry trends. You will work with Executive and Management teams, Business Units, Regions, Marketing and Sales, Strategy, Business Development, Finance, Legal, and external advisors to support investment projects and identify opportunities across acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments, venture investments, and other growth options. The role involves assessing strategic fit, value potential, risks, governance considerations, execution requirements, and progress against milestones while helping address complex and evolving business challenges. Through market perspectives, investment evaluations, and technology-related opportunities, your work supports innovation and the ongoing development of solutions that contribute to the reliability of power systems.
Role will be based onsite Raleigh, NC or Wilton, CT five days a week.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Develop insights on priority markets, customers, competitors, technologies, and industry trends to support strategic planning and investment opportunity identification.
  • Prepare clear materials for Executive Committee and Board-level discussions covering investment opportunities and recommended actions.
  • Partner with Business Units, Regions, Marketing and Sales, and functional teams to build market perspectives and align insights with strategic priorities.
  • Lead workstreams on strategic and investment projects, including market assessments, portfolio priorities, acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments, venture investments, commercial diligence, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support organic and inorganic growth initiatives by assessing strategic fit, investment rationale, value potential, risks, execution requirements, governance considerations, and milestone progress.
  • Manage cross-functional workstreams across global teams and stakeholders.
  • Structure ambiguous business challenges and develop recommendations to move projects forward.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience in market, customer, competitor, financial, or strategic assessment.
  • Background in corporate development, strategy, consulting, business development, investment assessment, venture capital, private equity, or M&A preferred.
  • Strong financial assessment, Excel modeling, PowerPoint, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create concise executive-ready materials.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional workstreams and influence senior stakeholders in a global organization.
  • 3 - 8 year's business strategy experiences.
  • Based onsite Raleigh, NC or Wilton, CT five days a week.
