Job Title: Machine Operator I

Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


Job Summary:

The Machine Operator I is responsible for safely and efficiently operating assigned machinery to produce quality products according to specifications. This role includes monitoring machine performance, performing basic troubleshooting, and ensuring that all production materials are handled properly and recorded accurately.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate production machinery according to job specifications.
  • Read and interpret tape measures, copy folders, and other setup documentation.
  • Operate unwind, Mabeg, and related systems to prepare, feed, and replace materials.
  • Inspect and monitor print quality, perforations, registration lines, and materials to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain proper records of roll weights, material usage, and production activity.
  • Perform basic adjustments, clear jams, and assist with routine machine maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, following all company safety procedures.
  • Communicate with supervisors or maintenance regarding equipment or quality issues.
  • Complete production and quality documentation as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic math, measurement, and mechanical aptitude required.
  • Ability to read and interpret production instructions and specifications.
  • Prior machine operation experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
