Shift hours:
1st shift: 6:00 am - 4:45 pm, weekends as necessary (10% shift differential on top of base pay)
Job Summary:
Sets up and operates flexographic printing press to produce basic to multiple color quality process printing of labels/products on rolls of flexible plastic film, paper, and other types of stock as per job jacket instructions. Must be able to set up and produce according to standards and pre-determined production times.

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
  • Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
  • Coordinates efforts as part of the team to provide assistance to all co-workers in all departments to maximize production efficiencies as needed.
  • Must have the ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1 mm.
  • Trains co-workers and new hires to set up, operate and use equipment.
  • Receives and reviews job jackets, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Retrieves and receives dies, inks, materials, plates, etc. and sets up press.
  • Secures approvals before running job and then solves problems to ensure quality is excellent. Secures help as needed.
  • Constantly monitors and adjusts press for consistent products; ensures product is color-correct, in registration, properly die cut, varnished, etc.
  • Cuts sample of printed material from end of printed roll and inspects for imperfections, such as blurred or off-center impressions.
  • Maintains inks, colors, registration and dies to ensure quality meets specifications.
  • Cleans rubber plate, cylinder, and dye fonts, and lubricates press as needed.
  • Operates hand truck, and hand tools.
  • Maintains all equipment by performing routine maintenance and cleaning.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with co-workers.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to address issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas, information and or work assignments with co-workers and management as needed.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1mm.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.
Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 125 pounds.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds overhead.
Requires constant movement and bending.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, flashing UV lights, dust, chemicals and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
