Greenridge Estates is a family-owned Assisted Living Community located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN A COOK

We are looking for a Cook who is energized by the thought being part of a family-owned community. This position requires a passion for both communication and relationships. Someone who is both professional, friendly, and cares about others will thrive in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A COOK

Under the direction of the Dining Services Director, the Cook ensures the dining room and kitchen operate efficiently with the help of Dining Room Attendants. Some of the general responsibilities of the Cook include, but are not limited to:

  • Uphold a high level of customer service when dealing with staff, residents, and families-addressing questions and concerns with respect and thoughtfulness
  • Prepare and serve appetizing and attractive meals to 70+ residents
  • Supervise the Dining Services staff in the absence of the Dining Services Director, providing training and guidance when needed
  • Ensure accurate orders are being delivered to residents, following diet and allergy requirements and resident preferences
  • Assist the Dining Room Attendants in serving, cleaning up, dishwashing, and reseting after each meal
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, reporting safety concerns immediately
  • Follow proper kitchen safety protocol, including OSHA standards, storage requirements, food labeling and dating requirements, sanitization practices, cleaning procedures, etc.

SHIFTS OF A COOK

Our Cook shifts run from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This schedule enables our cooks to be home in good time every evening, hold a second job if desired, and have 3-4 day weekends!

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 or more years of experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or long-term care dining environment.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, working weekends or holidays when needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, walk/stand 90% or more of shifts, and respond to all resident and emergency needs quickly, with or without reasonable accommodation.
