Portland's only riverfront country club with an unrivaled culture of year-round golf and spirited experiences that bring active families and friends closer together. Â Waverley Country Club is currently seeking a Banquet Cook to join us this summer season.
Position Summary: The position of Banquet Cook is responsible for quality, timely food preparation, food safety adherence and clean-up for all banquet events. All kitchen employees may be asked to work outside their area from time to time. Cooks report directly to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef.Â
Work Performed:Â
Responsible for food sanitation and cleanliness standards, adhering to all Oregon Food Safety regulations.
Adherence to Waverley Country Club's Employee Handbook.
Prepare food products in accordance with established recipes and specific instructions.
Cook items to order as described on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
Proper storage and rotation of food.
Communicate verbally and in writing with English as a primary language.
Commitment to recognize and acknowledge members by name.
Cleaning of workspace & banquet preparation/serving equipment.
Proper utilization of personal protective equipment.
Other duties as requested by Management.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements for Position:
Culinary school graduate preferred.
1 or more years of verifiable direct culinary experience.Â
Oregon Food Handlers certification required within 90 days of employment.
Ability to understand POS tickets and BEOs.
Solid time management, organization and prioritization skills.
Appropriate footwear and knives/tools.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform duties unseated for several hours, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, walk, bend and stoop.
CompensationÂ
$21 - $23 per hour (DOE)
