Job description

Mary’s Center is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to help lead the organization into its next chapter. For nearly four decades, Mary’s Center has provided high-quality, community-based health care and support services to families across Washington, DC and Maryland.

Reporting to the CEO, the COO will provide enterprise-wide leadership for operations and will play a central role in strengthening Mary’s Center’s operating model. This leader will help create greater clarity, accountability, consistency, and discipline across the organization while improving access, productivity, performance, and the patient experience.

Working closely with clinical and administrative leaders, the COO will translate strategy into execution, strengthen management systems and operating rhythms, support strong teams, and ensure that leaders have the structure, tools, and accountability needed to deliver consistently across a complex, multi-site organization.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned healthcare executive with experience leading complex operations and a demonstrated ability to build strong teams, improve performance, implement effective operating models, and lead through change. Experience in community health, ambulatory care, FQHCs, or other mission-driven healthcare environments is strongly preferred.

This is an opportunity to build on Mary’s Center’s longstanding legacy while helping shape how the organization operates and performs for the future.
