Southlake Automation is a Certified UL508A and UL698A HazLoc electrical controls engineering and panel manufacturer and a FANUC Authorized Systems Integrator providing robotic automation systems solutions with a proven history of providing best-in-class customer support. The ideal candidate for this Controls Technician role will have a experience working with industrial control panels including PLCs and motor drives. He/she will perform quality control of newly

produced control panels, define & enforce standards, and schedule production activities

Job Description: Automation Controls Technician

The Automation Controls Technician will be responsible for supporting the Southlake Automation, Inc. with all aspects of industrial control panel production.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and enforce UL508A and UL689 standards for industrial control panels
  • Perform quality control on industrial control panels using a laptop for configuring PLCs, HMIs, and Drives
  • Document and track defects and provide feedback for training and improvement for the build team
  • Work with engineering to implement process improvement for more efficient panel builds
  • Perform quarterly maintenance for FANUC robots. This includes greasing, battery changes, end of arm tool inspection, etc.
  • Production scheduling for control panel and personal assignments.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read electrical drawings
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and the basics of PLCs is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, office automation products or equivalent.
  • High energy, self-motivated, and driven for results. Team player and collaborator with all internal departments. Ability to deliver Voice of the Customer in a positive framework to improve the company's operations and performance, and

Physical Requirements or Working Conditions:

  • Routinely working in an lite industrial shop environment, with occasional visits to customers manufacturing sites
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to hardhat and/or safety helmet, hearing protection, high-visibility safety vest, safety glasses, safety shoes, respirator, etc., where and when required,
  • Routine travel by car.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, occasional weekends.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid US Passport and/or permit to work in the US, required,
  • Valid, unrestricted US-based Driver's License, required, and
  • Valid vehicle insurance required
