BAS Controls Technician (Niagara N4 / Johnson Controls)

Central & Northern New Jersey | Company Vehicle Provided | Local NJ Travel Only

Are you a Building Automation professional with hands-on experience supporting Johnson Controls (JCI), Niagara, or DDC systems? Join a growing and highly respected Building Automation contractor that offers long-term stability, cutting-edge projects, and a clear path for career advancement.

We're seeking a BAS Controls Service Technician who enjoys troubleshooting, programming, commissioning, and servicing HVAC control systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and institutional facilities throughout New Jersey.

This is a field-based Building Automation / HVAC Controls position.

What This Role Will Entail:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Building Automation and HVAC control systems
  • Service and support Johnson Controls (JCI), Niagara N4, and other DDC platforms
  • Perform controller programming, graphics modifications, and system adjustments
  • Execute startup, commissioning, and point-to-point checkout activities
  • Support BACnet, Modbus, and third-party system integrations
  • Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Respond to service calls and provide technical support to customers
  • Assist with system upgrades, retrofits, and optimization projects
  • Complete service reports and maintain accurate project documentation

What We're Seeking:

  • 2+ years of Building Automation (BAS) or HVAC Controls experience
  • Experience with Johnson Controls (Metasys, FX, CCT) and/or Niagara N4 platforms
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving DDC controls, controllers, sensors, and field devices
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment including AHUs, VAVs, RTUs, chillers, boilers, and VRF systems
  • Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, and building system integration
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally throughout New Jersey (Central & Northern)
