Compensation & Union Information

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement and is a union-represented role.

In accordance with New Jersey pay transparency requirements, the anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $25.76-$28.55 USD per hour, depending on training and certification status.

New hires typically begin at $25.76 USD per hour, paid bi-weekly. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay.

Upon successful completion of all required Central Control Operator training and achievement of CCO certification, the hourly rate increases to $28.55 USD per hour.

Employees may also be eligible for additional benefits and programs available under the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Your Future Role

Take on a new challenge and apply your operations, dispatching, or control center expertise in a fast-paced airport transportation environment.

Working alongside dedicated operations and maintenance professionals, you'll help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient movement of passengers throughout Newark Liberty International Airport's automated transportation system.

In this role, you'll monitor train operations, support service delivery, coordinate maintenance access, manage power distribution activities, respond to operational incidents, and communicate with multiple stakeholders to keep service running safely and efficiently.

We'll look to you for:

  • Safely managing train movements and daily transportation operations
  • Monitoring control systems and operating conditions
  • Supporting incident response and service recovery efforts
  • Coordinating work permits and access for maintenance teams
  • Maintaining clear and effective radio and operational communications
  • Following established safety rules, procedures, and operating standards
