Job description

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY invites qualified applicants to apply. The library values diverse perspectives and life experiences and encourages people of all backgrounds to apply. POSITION:              Page – Part-time 

LOCATIONS:          Multiple Locations

HOURLY RATE:     $16.39/hour

HOURS:                  9 to 20 hours/week 

MINIMUM AGE:      14

Overall Position Purpose:  Prepares and shelves library materials; Straightens, shelf-reads, and shifts materials; Assists with opening and closing duties; Maintains public area; Extra projects with supervisor approval.

Preferred schedule details: Pages are hourly employees scheduled on an as-needed basis.  Pages should be available for regularly scheduled year-round hours; seasonal schedules (ex. summers only) are not permitted.  Pages must be willing to work some nights and Saturdays. Minors ages 14-17 please refer to employment application for work schedule restrictions for minors.  

Job requirements: Must have a keen eye for detail and be able to shelf items in alphabetical and numerical order. 

Other information: Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted via email.  This announcement will establish a temporary register of qualified candidates that will remain in effect for six (6) months. Prior applicants must submit a new application to be considered for future openings.

Minors ages 14-17 will be required to obtain a work permit from their high school guidance office with age verification section completed prior to their first day of work.
