Job description

FindTalent is leading the search for a Vice President - Contracting (Civil & Infrastructure Projects) to guide and expand a dynamic civil construction division. This executive role will oversee all aspects of contracting operations, from business development and project execution to financial oversight and talent development. The successful candidate will champion a high-performance, safety-first culture while driving growth, operational excellence, and long-term profitability.
This leader will have enterprise-wide influence and will shape the employee experience while positioning the division for sustainable market expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership across the contracting division, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and values
  • Drive business development efforts, cultivate client and stakeholder relationships, and grow the project pipeline
  • Oversee estimating, financial planning, and project acquisition to achieve revenue and margin targets
  • Monitor operational performance, identify risks, and implement improvements to meet schedule, budget, and quality objectives
  • Lead divisional managers and teams to execute projects efficiently while adopting innovative construction practices and technologies
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies across contracts and projects
  • Partner with HR and leadership to attract, retain, and develop top talent, including succession planning and leadership training
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and high team performance
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 10-15 years of senior leadership experience in field operations, project management, or construction executive roles
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale civil, site, or heavy infrastructure projects on time and within budget
  • Experience with design-build, negotiated, or lump-sum contracts
  • Strong executive presence with high emotional intelligence, communication skills, and people leadership capability
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functionally and make calm, solutions-focused decisions under pressure
Preferred Experience:
  • Leadership experience with major contractors or ENR Top 100 firms
  • Hands-on experience in civil site work, paving, heavy highway, and utility/infrastructure projects
  • Success in building high-performing teams and fostering employee engagement
  • Skilled at managing financial performance, project risk, and operational efficiency
  • Proven ability to develop future leaders and implement structured growth initiatives
