Job description

Under the direction of the Program Director, provides sports performance/fitness evaluation, training and programming for clients.

This position will work varying hours to assist with training and development of high school sports programs in the Allegheny County areas. Training for field performance training for speed and agility for football, volleyball and soccer as well as other sports seasonally.
Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the facility for the organization. Assist in providing coverage for our off-site contracts and programs
  • Attends and actively participates in staff meetings, staff development, departmental committees and in-service education programs.
  • Maintains current status of all pertinent criteria necessary to satisfy competency requirements for regulatory and accrediting agencies such as OSHA, JCAHO and CMS and practitioner requirements for participation as a health care provider including but not limited to: required CEU's, current professional license; current curriculum vitae; current CPR certification; current TB test; current competencies in safety, age and equipment; and in some cases current automobile license and current automobile insurance. Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Adheres to and supports the organizational policies and procedures , including the Corporate Compliance Program and its Code of Conduct and HIPAA regulations. This includes acceptance of the responsibility to report to the appropriate person(s) any suspected unethical, incompetent, or illegal activities or conduct.
  • Independently pursues professional growth and development related to this position and in lines with the mission and activities. Presents in-service and educational programs. Participates in community education and/or continuing education programs sponsored by the organization as requested.
  • Participates in special events/programs including community education and/or continuing education programs sponsored by the organization as requested.
  • Ensures all equipment is functioning properly and safely; ensures proper maintenance, repair and cleaning of all equipment.
  • Maintains client exercise log, establishes concrete goals for each client, and re-assesses clients on a regular basis for goal achievement/progress, demonstrating equipment usage, explaining proper physiology and answering all questions with a high standard of customer service.
  • Ensures that all new and existing members receive quality personal programs by marketing the department's services, developing specialized programs based upon health history, medical input and assessment.
  • Provides sports performance/fitness evaluation, training and programming for clients referred to the Sports Performance Program.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science OR a BA /BS with a CSCS (Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist)
  • Experience in training youth to adult athletes
  • Must possess the knowledge and skill required for developing and implementing speed, agility, strength, power aerobic andanaerobic conditioning programs for all sports and age groups
  • Must possess the knowledge and ability to provide Functional Movement Assessments and Performance Assessments for allsports and age groups.
  • Must possess knowledge and skill in demonstrating proper weight lifting, speed and agility mechanics.
  • Must be skilled in planning/organization on site and off site performance camps for various sports.
    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Certification in or working towards: CSCS or equivalent
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
