Job Description
The Assembler/Contract Packaging Worker will be responsible for placing finished master bags/cartons/trays on pallets, observing all safety regulations. The candidate will ensure all GMP (good manufacturing practices) and quality standards are met and maintain the efficient flow of product though the production process.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Ensure that all safety devices are functioning properly
โ€ข Ensure that the proper packaging supplies (bag rolls/cartons/trays) are positioned to assigned workstation
โ€ข Build carton by hand by folding flaps down
โ€ข Apply sticker with code date, product code, and slide box down chute or stack as required
โ€ข Seal carton with machine on packing conveyer, fold flaps on top down and tape them into place
โ€ข Stack/palletize- manually place carton/bag/ tray on the correct pallet according to proper stack pattern
โ€ข Remove defective bags from pack line and place into rework totes
โ€ข Notify supervisor of any out of place objects or items
โ€ข Assemble trays, build totes and line them with plastic as required
โ€ข Sweep and keep area clear, clean, and place trash/non conforming product in proper receptacles
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILTIES:
โ€ข Ability to work in a fast paced and high pressure environment
โ€ข Ability to work as a team and follow instructions
โ€ข Ability to use the equipment and tools used to perform the job
โ€ข Good mathematical skills (such as adding and subtracting)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข High School Diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข Three to six months experience in a production facility
โ€ข Bilingual (English/Spanish)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
โ€ข Material exposure-moving mechanical parts
โ€ข Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles and vibrations
โ€ข Must be able to lift/push-pull/carry up to 50 pounds
โ€ข Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time
