Job Description

Serves as Operations Manager for the Jo Ann Bingham Clinical Simulation Center (JBCSC), reporting directly to the Executive Director. Provides leadership and oversight for simulation operations, personnel, and resources. Ensures efficient workflow and utilization of resources. Serves as procurement and budget specialist for JBCSC. Provides administrative support and coordinates scheduling for the JBCSC. Collaborates with the Executive Director to ensure adherence to program policies, accreditation standards, and other governing body regulations. Schedules simulation activities into multiple electronic systems and assists with data collection for research projects and general record-keeping. Supervises classified staff, part-time staff, and student workers. Responsible for applying knowledge of state laws & internal policies regarding procurement & administrative policies, and fiscal matters. Responsible for processing purchase requests, analyzing data, preparing financial reports, developing budget forecasts and maintaining records & contracts. Responsible for monthly telephone and copier billing and reconciliation.

Required Qualifications

Excellent customer service skills and able to immediately respond to the needs of employees, coworkers, learners, other internal and external customers. Working knowledge of general office practices, procedures and equipment. Experience in supervision and providing programmatic support in a professional setting. Advanced skills in using various computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based programs. Strong interpersonal, mathematical, and analytical skills to effectively communicate via telephone, written form, or in person. Ability to monitor and manage multiple budgets. Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to research, investigate, and analyze financial and survey data. Ability to interpret contract agreements. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Must possess self-motivation and be proactive in upholding the highest quality standards of the multi-site simulation center.

Preferred Qualifications:

Easily learns new software programs needed to manage operations in a healthcare simulation center. Experience working in a university environment using the Ellucian Banner administrative system. Experience with the Commonwealth of Virginia eVA procurement system. People management, project management, data tracking and follow-up, communication and accountability, process improvement.

The Jo Ann Bingham Clinical Simulation Center (JBCSC) at Radford University is a premier, multi-site healthcare simulation facility serving learners across the New River and Roanoke Valleys. As a leader in innovative, evidence-based experiential education, the CSC provides immersive, realistic clinical environments designed to prepare high-quality healthcare professionals of the future.
The JBCSC integrates state-of-the-art technologies, advanced human patient simulators, standardized patients, haptic devices, and authentic medical equipment to deliver dynamic, hands-on learning experiences. Facilities represent a wide range of care settings, including emergency, medical/surgical, birthing suites, pediatrics, clinic rooms, and a fully equipped home-health apartment. Each site is supported by a sophisticated digital audiovisual system enabling live or recorded learning, debriefing, and inter-site communication.
