Contract Recruiter Personal Trainer Hiring

Reports To: Director of Recruitment

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week Duration: 3 months (potential to extend)
Location: Hybrid (New York City) 3 days a week on site
Salary: $28 - $35/ hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a Contract Recruiter to support high-volume recruiting for Personal Trainer roles across our corporate gyms. This role is critical in ensuring we attract, hire, and onboard top fitness talent to meet the growing demand in our clubs. This is a 3-month contract with possibility of extending longer based on company needs.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for personal trainer openings, from sourcing to preboarding hires.
  • Partner with hiring managers and People & Culture to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, networking, schools, and industry-specific channels.
  • Proactively find new resources and build relationships to bring in quality leads.
  • Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
  • Partner in developing Personal Trainer Recruitment Playbook to support ongoing process and demonstrate best practices to internal team.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience and represent Crunchs brand and culture throughout the hiring process.
  • Track recruiting metrics and provide regular updates to leadership on hiring progress.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience in high-volume recruiting, ideally within fitness, retail, or hospitality industries.
  • Strong sourcing skills and familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with candidates and hiring teams.
  • Highly organized with strong ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and think creatively.
  • Knowledge of fitness industry trends and personal training certifications is a plus.
