What is a talent staff?

Talent Staff are professionals responsible for recruiting, managing, and supporting employees within an organization or for specific events and projects. They handle tasks such as sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, coordinating onboarding, and sometimes managing scheduling and payroll for temporary staff. Talent Staff play a crucial role in ensuring that an organization has the right people in the right roles to meet its business objectives. Their work helps maintain a productive and motivated workforce, whether for day-to-day operations or special events.

How does a talent staff member typically collaborate with hiring managers during the recruitment process?

Talent Staff members work closely with hiring managers to understand the specific needs of each open position and ensure recruitment strategies are aligned with team goals. They often assist in drafting job descriptions, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews, acting as a bridge between applicants and the hiring team. Regular communication and feedback sessions help refine candidate selection and improve the overall hiring process. This collaborative approach ensures that the most suitable candidates are identified efficiently and that the hiring experience is positive for all parties involved.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as talent staff, and why are they important?

To thrive as Talent Staff, you need a solid understanding of talent acquisition, recruitment processes, and human resources principles, often supported by a degree in HR or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and recruitment tools like LinkedIn Recruiter is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively help build relationships with both candidates and hiring managers. Job description

ABOUT SOLSTICE

Solstice is redefining how life sciences organizations commercialize their therapeutics. We are building a commercial engine that allows pharmaceutical marketers to launch campaigns at 100x the speed.

  • Rapid growth: Over the past year, we have been working with some of the top life sciences manufacturers and are working with over 50+ pharma brands.
  • Frontiers of technology: We're building applications and rapidly iterating technical approaches at the frontiers of AI, experimenting with LLMs and new frameworks. We are incorporating new, advanced frameworks into our solution to better define the possibilities of pharmaceutical marketing.
  • Top-tier investors: We've raised from investors like Transformation Capital, Twelve Below, Virtue and the founders of Datavant, Commure, and Paradigm to supercharge our growth and build an elite team of engineers and operators.

Building anything great requires commitment and dedication. We're looking for someone who has the fire to prove others wrong.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a rare chance to own go-to-market hiring at a fast-growing AI company in life sciences. You'll be the person who builds our commercial engine — sales, marketing, customer success, and partnerships: from the ground up, defining the sourcing strategies, interview rigor, and hiring bar that will shape Solstice's GTM org as we scale.

Your time will be split across two core areas: 90% GTM Recruiting and 10% Recruiting Operations & Process.

GTM RECRUITING (90%)
  • Own full-cycle recruiting across commercial functions: sales, marketing, customer success, partnerships, and revenue operations
  • Partner with commercial leaders and founders to define role requirements, leveling, and the GTM hiring bar
  • Build and manage a deep pipeline of top commercial talent through proactive sourcing, referrals, and employer brand
  • Source against competitive, quota-carrying and senior commercial roles in a fast-moving market
  • Design a structured, consistent interview process (including assessing sales motions, domain fit, and culture) that scales with the team
  • Track recruiting metrics and iterate on what's working
RECRUITING OPERATIONS & PROCESS (10%)
  • Help build and maintain recruiting infrastructure: ATS hygiene, scorecards, interviewer training, and process documentation
  • Support onboarding to ensure new commercial hires ramp quickly and feel set up for success
  • Manage relationships with GTM recruiting agencies and external partners as needed
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years of recruiting experience, with a strong emphasis on GTM/commercial hiring, ideally at a high-growth startup
  • Proven track record of owning full-cycle GTM recruiting and closing competitive sales, marketing, and customer success candidates
  • Strong understanding of go-to-market motions and the ability to assess commercial talent across the funnel
  • Comfortable defining and calibrating a GTM hiring bar alongside founders and commercial leaders
  • Strong judgment and discretion when handling sensitive candidate and team matters
  • Excellent communicator who can work closely with founders and individual contributors alike
  • Organized, process-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
NICE TO HAVE
  • Prior experience recruiting for commercial roles in healthcare, life sciences, or pharma
  • Experience at a B2B SaaS company with a fast-scaling sales org
  • Familiarity with tools like Ashby or similar HR/ATS platforms
  • Experience scaling a commercial team from seed to Series A or beyond
