CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Product Manager is assigned a portfolio of products, and channels and is responsible for product selection, product lifecycle management, reducing slow moving obsolete inventory, managing and interpreting supplier programs, initiating special buys, and providing general product support for various functional areas of the business. The primary goal of the Product Manager is to execute the Product Strategy, and to improve customer experience, and drive above market growth, while enhancing Banner's gross margin performance through the optimization of product offers and maximizing vendor relationships.

• Create and execute tactics based on the Product Strategy to support our customer channels

• Partner with sales and finance to build product series plans

• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to help establish the Channel specific Go-To-Market strategy and promotional opportunities

• Partner with sales, inventory management, and finance to optimize the SKU mix in order to support profitable sales with the lowest inventory investment

• Manage the product life cycle at launch and during retirement

• Provide Competitive Pricing data to support overall Pricing Strategy

• Responsible for product rationalization and Slow moving inventory management processes to ensure products align with the organization’s strategic goals.

• Consolidate, analyze, and report key information related to market competitiveness, positioning, and opportunity.

• Provide Inventory Management with input from vendors, sales & customers to modify forecasts to support growth or strategic stocking opportunities

• Take a leadership role in maximizing our vendor relationships through vendor selection, negotiation of buying programs, promotions, and customer quote analysis

• Negotiate best in class programs with each key vendor to make sure we are in a position to win and don’t have disadvantages.

• Owns the relationship with suppliers’ corporate teams to optimize each supplier’s program and to leverage their capabilities.

• Monitor and make recommendations for customer specific quote discounts as well as alternative products

• Collaborate with other functional areas to develop unique programs to make sure they are congruent with the product/sales strategies and with fiscal responsibility.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Minimum of seven years of experience in sales, product management, or marketing

• Experience in door hardware industry

• Strong negotiating, planning, and organizational skills. Demonstrated project management experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Powerpoint

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to interact with customers with accuracy and professionalism

• Bachelor’s degree required, or significant equivalent business experience

• Effective in engaging and motivating cross-functional colleagues

• Solid understanding of general business concepts

Preferred Differentiators

• Proficiency in SalesForce, and Power BI is a plus
