JOB TITLE: Hardware Engineer - HYBRID
LOCATION: (HYBRID)Orlando, FL
PAY RATE: $50.00-70.00/hour

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Performs hardware design and development for power and control systems, motion platform integration, visual display systems, avionics interfaces, and ancillary equipment for FAA Level D Full Flight Simulator.

  • Manages end-to-end integration of new simulator hardware with existing building infrastructure including HVAC, electrical distribution, grounding, and fire and smoke monitoring systems.

  • Leads Hardware Engineers to synchronize engineering, procurement, production planning, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure design completion as scheduled.

  • Develops and generates CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles.

  • Develops and generates hardware architectural layouts for system and lower-level interfaces between systems and subsystems.

  • Derives hardware and sub-tier requirements from customer requirements.

  • Builds BOMs, creates parts, assemblies, and design documentation.

  • Applies Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and performs complex system-level tolerance analysis.

  • Generates hardware architecture, high-level interconnects, and derives requirements from customer and system-level flow downs.

  • Adapts hardware designs to existing climate control systems ensuring temperature and humidity stability for avionics and motion platforms.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience in developing flight simulation hardware solutions.

  • Experience developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings.

  • Experience deriving hardware and sub-tier requirements from customer requirements.

  • Experience building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation.

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform complex system-level tolerance analysis.

  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams through major technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).

  • Experience applying Hardware Engineering processes in an Agile environment.

  • Preferred: Experience with Windchill, Creo, Catia, Zuken, Cameo, and prior experience in development, integration, and deployment of flight training systems.
