Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing regional operational and physical security programs, to include supervising multiple regional investigators who conduct sales, fraud, integrity, and other criminal and policy violations investigations. The Regional Security Manager, Operations is responsible for managing the day-to-day security operations and for ensuring effective implementation of security programs for all Heartland Region locations, assesses and evaluates the type and level of security risks facing operations and implements programs to incorporate threat mitigation into strategic business planning. Programs include, but are not limited physical security systems, employee security, contract guard force management, security investigations, and security awareness training for all employees. Develops physical security recommendations to facilitate the protection of Company property/assets from loss and facilitates security awareness training to employees. This position is also responsible for managing the development of investigative plans, managing the implementation of headquarters and Division directives, and serve as the lead Security subject matter expert consultant to the Regional Senior Leadership Team.Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Manages security operations, planning, directing, and organizing programs of multiple facilities.
- Develops and implements policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, sabotage, loss, etc.
- Oversees contract guard operations and provides supervision to the contract guard site supervisors / account manager(s).
- Designs & develop post orders, SOP’s, and protocols.
- Oversees the Region’s investigative activities, including managing investigation scopes, plan development, quality control, case closure, and development of recommendations to mitigate future threats/gaps.
- Plans, acquires, and administers resources for functions, to include funding, equipment, and other resources.
- Integrates all-source intelligence, risk assessments, and all-hazards data to secure people and facilities.
- Measures success through quantitative and qualitative methods; develops and documents standards for measuring the efficiency and effectiveness of business unit security operations.
- Manages the completion of physical security assessments, audits, surveys, and process reviews.
- Conducts root cause analysis and implements appropriate corrective measures.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on all security related matters and investigations.
- Accountable for ensuring that the security programs and strategies of the organization are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Provides regular briefings, updates, and situational awareness reports to leadership as needed.
- Develops and maintains a professional working relationship with various law enforcement agencies; acts as a primary point-of-contact with law enforcement in cases involving employees or stakeholders.
- Works flexible hours and is available as situations warrant.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), as necessary.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in an area of study relevant to this position preferred.
Desired Related Work Experience
- 5+ years’ related progressive experience in managing corporate security programs and investigations or related areas, such as, audit, compliance, risk and intelligence functions, loss prevention,
- Prior experience working in a corporate environment preferred.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Certification from an interviewing and interrogation program such as Wicklander-Zulawski & Associates, John E. Reid & Associates, or LSI Laboratory for Scientific Interrogation, Inc. (SCAN).
- Certification or accreditation from a Risk or Security Management Association or governing body is a plus.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) desired.
- Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus.
- Familiarization with Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles.
Working Conditions
- Position requires sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing to travel and respond to emergency security matters on a 24 x 7 basis.
- Must participate in rotational “on call” program.
