Job description

THE POSITION Step into a meaningful leadership role as a Forensic Registered Nurse Supervisor with Torrance State Hospital. This position gives you the chance to guide nursing teams who support individuals with serious psychiatric needs. Your work will shape patient care and strengthen the quality of services in a forensic treatment setting.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position supervises and supports nursing staff of Torrance State Hospital who provide care to forensic patients with acute and long-term psychiatric needs. The role focuses on leadership, communication and ensuring safe, effective treatment.

As a Forensic Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties: Staff Leadership: Guide and evaluate nursing personnel to ensure responsible and effective patient care Clinical Oversight: Review treatment interventions and support continuous improvement in nursing practices Environment Safety: Assess care areas and correct unsafe conditions to maintain a therapeutic setting Training Support: Promote staff development through coaching, orientation and mandatory learning programs Communication Duties: Share important clinical and administrative information to keep teams aligned Policy Compliance: Apply hospital and forensic standards to enhance quality of patient services Interested in learning more. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years as a Forensic Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of professional nursing experience providing care, treatment, custody, and control of psychiatric patients. Special Requirements: The position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.

If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
