Job Purpose

The Contracts Specialist is responsible for award administration, contract lifecycle from review to execution, compliance and negotiation for Aerospace & Defense and commercial markets associated with specialty batteries, development programs, and government-funded contracts within munitions. The role also supports data analysis and manipulation, FAR/DFARs/CFR compliance, representations and certifications activities, and internal reporting activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and prepare contractual documents for management review, comment, and approval.
  • Manage the review and tracking of contractual documentation, status, and approvals to drive the contract acceptance process through completion.
  • Interpret, compile, edit, and proofread text and data from various sources for use in technical discussions, documents, reports, and proposals.
  • Review contracts and terms & conditions for alignment with corporate standards, recommend strategies to negotiate mutually acceptable positions, and administer contracts to maintain compliance.
  • Work with corporate resources to manage Contract, ITAR, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), and FAR/DFARs/CFR compliance.
  • Ensure export compliance, program security, and regulatory compliance is maintained.
  • Work with program management to establish consistent customer messaging related to all compliance related communications.
  • Aid in the development, operation, implementation, and enforcement of internal controls and protocols.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience must include the following:
1.    Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or closely related discipline, or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience and/or other training.
2.    2-5 years of experience in government contracting with experience administering firm-fixed and cost-plus contracts.
3.    In-depth knowledge of FAR, DFARs, and CFR.
4.    Thorough knowledge of CMMC, cybersecurity, and safeguarding of information.

Language Skills
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Comfortable presenting to audiences up to 10 people both virtually and in person.

Mathematical Skills
Advanced. Comfortable with financial reporting and earned value management.

Reasoning Ability
Able to examine requirements and understand the underlying request as it relates to the project. Must be able to multi-task in an environment where prioritization is consistently changing while ensuring all responsibilities are addressed.

Computer Skills 
Role requires significant use of Adobe, Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and other software.  Must be able to understand Excel formulas, pivot tables, and impact of data inputs in complex spreadsheets.

Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and comprehend Aerospace & Defense industry proposals, contracts, announcements, regulations, procedures, FAR/DFARs/CFR clauses, and government contracts. Advanced organizational and reporting skills, ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines, and excellent technical writing and editing skills.

Up to 50%.
