In most cases, your responsibilities include working with a multi-disciplinary team that includes project managers, ops analysis, and subject matter experts. Basic Function The Laboratory Manager is responsible for managing the Marshall Technology Center, ensuring compliance with industry standards, developing equipment and procedures, and coordinating with cross‐functional teams. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Prepare yearly budget and management plan. Set variable efficiency improvement targets. Develop and manage action plans to achieve targets. Control variable cost within established budget. Prepare bi‐weekly work progress reports. Hire and maintain a qualified staff and workforce. Provide a safe working environment. Implement and maintain high standards for quality and service level. Maintain equipment. Prepare capital expenditure proposals. Regularly meet with customers and representatives during facility visits. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Effective verbal and written communication. Ability to accurately scope tasks and projects, organize work into logical process steps, use time effectively, and establish priorities. Capability to work independently or as part of a team. Sound technical skills with strong attention to detail. Commitment to safety for self and others. Persistence in facing obstacles and results orientation. Strong problem‐solving techniques and data gathering skills. Knowledge of engineering science and technology application in design and production. Clear and articulate speech; ability to ask open‐ended questions. Experience with .NET programming is desired. Experience with LabView, SharePoint, PowerApps, and workflow tools is a plus. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred). Formal laboratory training is preferred. Experience in electrical testing or related field is a plus. PC literate with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with SharePoint and workflow tools is a plus. Work Environment / Physical Demands Requires visual and mental attention to detail while working around cutting equipment, hot surfaces, and materials, high‐voltage test equipment, and accurate recording of results. Other Safety Notes Work may involve exposure to lethal high voltages in electrical test areas. Automatic and manual grounding protection must be used.
