Job Overview

This role focuses on designing, configuring, and operating integrated building control systems-including fire, security, lighting, nurse call, and data networks-to meet project specifications. It involves software development, commissioning, troubleshooting, and coordination with field teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Configuration

  • Design complex building control systems for contract documents.
  • Create flow diagrams, sequences of operations, BOMs, network layouts, and schematics.
  • Develop and test software programs for system operation.

Project Coordination

  • Prepare submittals and installation drawings.
  • Select, order, and track materials.
  • Coordinate factory-mounting and delivery schedules.

Commissioning & Troubleshooting

  • Load and commission system/network controllers.
  • Validate system functionality and resolve issues with subcontractors.

Documentation & Communication

  • Provide field change updates for as-built drawings and software.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
  • Conduct site-specific training for system operators.

Quality & Safety

  • Participate in release meetings and apply value engineering.
  • Adhere to safety standards and promote high safety awareness.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in a technical field + 7 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction, mechanical, electrical, or HVAC systems.
  • Proficiency in control theory, automation systems, and low-voltage integration (LON, BACnet).
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Advanced computer skills, especially in drafting tools like Visio.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering + 5 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with IP networking and Tridium/Niagara Framework.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - 105,000. USD Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
