With research thrusts across fields such as health and medicine, biofuels, air quality and more, CMU chemical engineering students are paving the way to a healthier, cleaner, and more efficient future for all.

The Sevenler research group has multiple openings for postdoctoral fellows to work on a translational biomedical research project with a highly interdisciplinary team of engineers and scientists at the CMU College of Engineering, CMU Robotics Institute, and the University of Pittsburgh Trauma & Transfusion Medicine Research Center. The project is focused on developing a microfluidic technology for loading molecules and nanoparticles into red blood cells ex vivo, with the goal of leveraging red blood cells as a biocompatible drug depot for extended release.
