Job description

Answers and routes calls received by the Hospital's main telephone number. Operates the PBX telephone console. Performs miscellaneous clerical duties.

Job Responsibility

  • * Answers and routes calls received by the main Hospital telephone number.
  • * Provides patient room and visiting hours information assistance to callers.
  • * Pages authorized personnel overhead and/or on paging system.
  • * Monitors all emergency alarms and dispatches appropriate response teams.
  • * Maintains appropriate logs and records.
  • * Provides access to telephonic interpreter services for callers with limited English proficiency.
  • Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Ability to work additional shifts, as needed.
  • Gracious manners, pleasant speaking voice, calm demeanor and the ability to work under stress.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
